I wondered if anyone who had done the SCC could give me advice on whether I should do the preliminary course first?

Is the multiple choice part of the SCC tough? What should I expect on this? Do I need to study anything in particular.. Any guidelines or pointers appreciated!

I have been a chef for over 15 years on land and yachts, I have completed a 4 year cooking apprenticeship in australia, and have recently completed courses in bread and food hygiene. Do I still need to complete the cooks ship certificate? and also where can I complete it in the USA or Caribbean and I am in Saint Marrten now. I look forward to speaking with you soon.
